| The
Hydrus by Reinke Micro Pivot irrigation system is
the solution to problems presented by low volume
wells and low power availability (operates with
110 or 220 volt power).
The Hydrus is Reinke's
lightest weight irrigation system that gives you
big results. Recommended for small or irregularly
shaped fields (including grain, forage, sod, vegetable,
game and hobby farms), it's lightweight structure
and flotation tires offer reduced rutting and
easy towing (ability to tow is standard). The
system also offers savings through reduced operating
costs due to fewer maintenance needs and smaller
energy requirements.
The system uses four-inch mainline pipe throughout.
Today's low-pressure water sprinklers are 90-95
percent efficient, reducing the required gallons
per minute (gpm) per acre by as much as 20 percent.
This improved efficiency has allowed us to redesign
the structural hardware to better fit the requirements
for small acreage fields and low gpm applications.
The Hydrus comes with six or nine foot ground
clearance under the span trussing to meet the
requirements of most crop and field conditions.

|
 |
The nine-foot ground
clearance system features a wider wheelbase for
added stability.
The system is lightweight and easy to install
and maintain, with only five different structural
parts in an entire span assembly to deal with.
With minimal annual maintenance, the system will
provide years of dependable service. |

The Hydrus by Reinke Micro Pivot was conceived and
designed for small and medium size fields. The result
was a small, lightweight machine powered by DC voltage,
eliminating the need for 480 volt, three phase power.
Here are some reasons why the Hydrus by Reinke is
the right choice for your small acreage:
- The Right Choice
for your energy source with options that include
1) 110 or 220 volt single phase commercial electrical
power or 2) small engine powered generator.
- The Right Choice
for low operating and maintenance costs.
- The Right Choice
for durability, with all major components galvanized.
- The Right Choice
for a simple and easy-to-operate system
- The Right
Choice for multiple field locations (ability
to tow is standard)
- The Right Choice
for easy installation, as little or no concrete
is required at the pivot center.
- The Right Choice
for reliability, with the full support of Reinke

| "We
got our Hydrus in spring 2002. We've been impressed
with how evenly it puts water on. We used to flood
irrigate. This has been our first experience with
a pivot and I'm very pleased with the Hydrus. Our
Hydrus has done a great job. Our stands are real
even. We grow alfalfa, oats and winter wheat. We
just had our first cutting and I've never seen that
big of windrows. The Hydrus has increased our production
by about 30-40 mpercent. We're using the Hydrus
to irrigate two fields. It's very simple to move.
We grow alfalfa and the Hydrus doesn't leave many
wheel tracks. On smaller acres, you can't beat the
Hydrus. It works great."

The Hydrus by Reinke
Micro Pivot center-drive gear motor is powered
by a high efficiency 1/8 HP, 48 volt DC motor.
When coupled with the 257:1 gear ratio, this gear
motor provides extremely high torque output and
fast rotation speeds. A five-tower (637 ft) Hydrus
by Reinke Micro Pivot can complete a full revolution
in just over 14.5 hours.

The Hydrus by Reinke
Micro Pivot final-drive is designed with a beveled
gear for maximum efficiency. The 6:1 gear ratio
can be towed without the need for a special disconnect
hub.

The system structure
is galvanized for lasting aesthetics, durability
and long life. Under normal operating conditions
galvanized protection will give many years of
service.

For decades the Warren
Truss has proven itself as a viable support structure
around the world. This truss design can be seen
in a variety of applications from bridges to center
pivots. Reinke chose the Warren Truss design for
it's Hydrus Micro Pivot for several reasons:
- Commonality of
parts for easy installation and maintenance.
- Minimum span arch
results in uniform ground clearance for today's
efficient sprinkler packages.
- Allows for spans
(distance between support towers) in a variety
of lengths at 10-foot increments.
- Provides a pivot
point that can be easily towed from location
to location.

The Hydrus by Reinke
Micro Pivot uses four-inch galvanized steel pipe
throughout. All pipe sections are identical in
10-foot lengths with sprinkler outlets positioned
every five feet.
Pipe flanges are 1/4" steel fastened together
with six bolts. Flanges are machined to permit
the use of O-ring gaskets (pioneered by Reinke
in 1968) for a perfect seal.

The Hydrus by Reinke
Micro Pivot meets both UL and CUL requirements
for safe operation. The Master Control Panel is
engineered using the highest quality components
and it is easy to understand. Standard control
features include:
- Easy-to-understand
operating instructions
- Incoming power
disconnect
- DC control voltage
- Forward and reverse
selection
- Variable speed
control
- Low-pressure shut-down
- Wet or dry operating
selection
- Alignment safety

| "We
grow perennial peanuts and hay. We purchased the
Hydrus by Reinke two years ago for two reasons.
One, it's mobile and has great tow ability. Two,
it doesn't rut up the field, which is very conducive
to hay operations. We went from zero mechanized
irrigation to two Hydrus micro-pivots, so we've
seen dramatic improvements in our crops. The Hydrus
is very efficient. We have 200 acres of irrigated
hay and I move each pivot about three times a week.
The Hydrus is also cost-efficient. Our monthly electric
bill is very low. In terms of accurate application,
the Hydrus is perfect. I've been so impressed with
the pivot, I'll most likely buy a third one soon."
